Press service of Yabloko reported about the meeting of Russian President Vladimir Putin with the chairman of the federal political committee of the party, Grigory Yavlinsky. According to the press service, the meeting discussed the military special operation in Ukraine and the state of the Russian economy. Presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov did not comment on the report about the meeting.
“The main subject of discussion was the need for a ceasefire agreement in the Northern Military District… The leader of Yabloko believes that it is necessary to begin negotiations on a ceasefire as soon as possible and is ready to personally participate in them. Grigory Yavlinsky outlined his position in detail,” the party said in a statement.
“In addition, the meeting discussed future problems of the Russian economy in the context of fragmentation of the global economic system,” the press service added.
The report also said the 2024 presidential election was not discussed. “Previously, Grigory Yavlinsky has repeatedly publicly stated that he will consider the possibility of participating in the presidential elections if citizens themselves and on their own initiative collect at least 10 million signatures for his nomination,” the statement says.
“I don’t comment on this in any way,” presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov told reporters in response to a request to comment on the report about the meeting with Grigory Yavlinsky (quoted from RIA Novosti).
