The Ministry of Defense said in a statement that a convoy of Yars launchers has already begun its march from its permanent deployment point in the city of Teykovo, Ivanovo region. The route of the column passes along the M7 federal highway.

The Yars (RS-24) complexes form the basis of the Strategic Missile Forces grouping. The missile system is capable of hitting targets at a distance of up to 11 thousand km. The ballistic missile of the complex is equipped with a multiple warhead with maneuvering warheads. The complex was developed by the Moscow Institute of Thermal Engineering (MIT) under the leadership of Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences Yu. S. Solomonov. RS-24 is a modification of the Topol-M missile system.
