The Yaroslavl hockey club hosted Omsk Avangard last weekend. Earlier, during the Lokomotiv away series, the Omsk Hawks won. The railway fans were waiting for revenge.
The first period passed without changes in the score. Both teams seemed to be testing each other’s strength. In the second period, the hosts found “soft spots” in the visitors’ defense. The scoring was opened by the Andronov-Kraskovsky pair. And at the end of the period, Ivan Chekhovich struck the visitors’ goal.
At the beginning of the third period, Avangard was able to break through Isaev’s goal. But they failed to equalize the score. At first, the Chekhovich-Kiryanov pair increased the lead in the score. And then Rushan Rafikov, with a feed from goalkeeper Isaev, scored the winning goal. The result of the meeting was 4-1.
Lokomotiv strengthened its leadership in the West conference. In the home series, the railway workers have 2 matches left – with HC Sochi and Dynamo Minsk.
