Yaroslavl “Locomotive” on the evening of October 13 managed to perform a real miracle. The team in the home match confidently outplayed the St. Petersburg army team. The Yaroslavl club did not have victories over this team for a very long time.
The first period of the match passed without changing the score. None of the teams were able to hit the opponent’s goal. Daniil Isaev, the goalkeeper of Lokomotiv, beat off all attacks with dignity. In the second period forwards Ivanov and Nikulin, who distinguished themselves in previous games, were able to make a breakthrough and broke through the opponent’s defense. Nikulin gave an accurate pass, which Ivanov “transformed” into a goal.
The second goal was scored a little later by Yegor Korshkov with a pass from Sergei Andronov.
In the third period, the SKA army team still managed to “print out” Isaev’s gate. In the final part of the period, the guests removed the goalkeeper, hoping for the most part to level the score and bring the game into overtime. But Georgy Ivanov scored the puck into an empty net, scoring a double.
