Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug, Nenets Autonomous District and Moscow are leaders in the ranking of regions in terms of household income

The Yamal-Nenets, Nenets Autonomous Okrugs and Moscow topped the rating of Russian regions by income of the population compiled by RIA Novosti. Ingushetia and Tuva are at the end of the rating.
When comparing the rating, the ratio of median incomes (an indicator that conditionally divides all residents according to their financial situation, half of them have incomes above this indicator, the other half have lower incomes) and the cost of a fixed set of goods.
The top 5 included:
- Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug (median income and fixed enrollment was 3.24);
- Nenets Autonomous Okrug (2.97);
- Moscow (2.63);
- Magadan region (2.59);
- Chukotka Autonomous Okrug (2.52).
Ingushetia ranks 85th in the ranking, with a median income to fixed income ratio of 1. In another four regions, this indicator lies in the range of 1.0–1.1, and in 15 regions in general it does not exceed 1.3.
According to the study, in 25 regions the share of the poor is less than 10%. In six regions, the proportion of the poor is above 20%, in ten regions it is in the range of 15–20%. The highest level of poverty was also noted in Ingushetia (30.5%). The smallest shares of the population below the poverty line are in the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug and St. Petersburg (4.5% each), Moscow and Tatarstan (5% each), and the Moscow Region (5.5%).
Rosstat reported that according to the results of the first quarter, the level of poverty in the Russian Federation continued to decline. To calculate the number and share of the poor, the indicator of the cost of the consumer basket for the fourth quarter of 2020 is used, taking into account accumulated inflation, on average in 2022 this amount was 13.5 thousand rubles.
