From February 12 to 18, Bucharest hosts the European Wrestling Championships, which will feature Greco-Roman, women’s and freestyle wrestling. Today, February 14, representatives of women’s wrestling will take to the mat, including Yakutian Sevil Nazarova, reports the online publication “Sport of Yakutia”.
Earlier it became known about the difficulties that some Russian wrestlers had to face in obtaining a visa. However, despite this, all Russian athletes will compete in full force in the capital of Romania.
However, for Yakutian Sevil Nazarova, these competitions will be special, since she will compete in the weight category up to 62 kg, which is unusual for her. Usually at Russian competitions her fighting weight is 57 kg. In the first round, in the 1/8 finals, Sevil Nazarova will fight with her opponent from Moldova, Marianna Cerdivar.
A total of 16 athletes will compete for medals in the up to 62 kg weight category.
