The Yabloko initiative group began collecting signatures for the nomination of the chairman of the Federal Political Committee of the party, Grigory Yavlinsky, as a candidate in the presidential elections of the Russian Federation. Mr. Yavlinsky announced this at the 22nd Party Congress. The collection will continue for about two more weeks.
“We are collecting signatures, but so that people are not afraid to put these signatures, we are collecting signatures not for peace and freedom, but for the nomination of our candidate, for the nomination of Grigory Yavlinsky. We named the figure – 10 million, this is 10% of voters, only 10% of voters, so that they don’t write us later – 0.3%,” said Mr. Yavlinsky (quoted from “RIA News”).
In November, the head of the Yabloko party Nikolai Rybakov said about Grigory Yavlinsky’s plans to conduct a civil and political collection of signatures. Based on the results, a decision will be made whether to collect signatures as a legal procedure for transfer to the Central Election Commission, Mr. Rybakov noted.
In October, Grigory Yavlinsky repeatedly declaredwhich will consider the possibility of nominating a candidate in the presidential elections, provided that at least 10 million signatures for his nomination are collected at the initiative of citizens.
CEC approved three-day voting for presidential elections: March 15, 16 and 17, 2024. On the eve of the decision to run for office reported Russian President Vladimir Putin. Meeting of a group of voters for his nomination will pass December 16 at the Moscow Zaryadye Concert Hall
