XXXIV All-Russian Olympic Day celebrated in Arkhangelsk

According to the regional Ministry of Sports, on June 17, events within the framework of the XXXIV All-Russian Olympic Day started in Arkhangelsk.
The grand opening of the holiday took place on the basis of the center street basketball. Sergey Pivkov, Deputy Governor of the Arkhangelsk Region, turned to lovers of a healthy lifestyle.
– Russia has been and will remain in the Olympic movement. The regional government will always support the development of Olympic sports in the Arkhangelsk region. The All-Russian Olympic Day is the largest event of the program of the Russian Olympic Committee “Olympic Country”, in which thousands of athletes and amateurs take part throughout the country. It is mass sport that contributes to attracting more and more people of all ages to sports and a healthy lifestyle, – Sergey Anatolyevich noted.
Andrey Bagretsov, President of the Olympic Council of the Arkhangelsk Region, greeted the athletes on behalf of the Russian Olympic Committee.
– The All-Russian Olympic Day has already firmly entered the calendar of sporting events in our region. I wish each of you to go through life guided by the main Olympic motto: “Faster! Higher! Stronger!” I am sure today our sports marathon will be successful, and the strongest will win the competition! Andrey Vyacheslavovich said.
The competition began, as expected, with a warm-up. “Exercising with the champion” was held by the captain of the Russian basketball team Timofey Gerasimov, as well as members of the national teams of the Arkhangelsk region, kayaker Arina Dekhtyarenko and talented swimmer Ksenia Korelskaya.
