Vladimir Putin and Xi Jinping, as Mr. Ushakov specified, discussed conflicts in the Gaza Strip and in Ukraine. In addition, the President of the People’s Republic of China announced his support for the priorities of the Russian chairmanship in BRICS, and the Russian President confirmed his support for the one-China policy on the issue of Taiwan’s ownership. The heads of state, he said, mutually expressed disagreement with the US political course.

In a message to website The Russian President said that good neighborly ties between Russia and China are “at an unprecedented high level.” Bilateral trade turnover between the two countries, as stated in the material, exceeded the $200 billion mark a year ahead of schedule and amounted to $227.7 billion.

In the year of the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations, Vladimir Putin and Xi Jinping expressed interest in promoting cooperation “in all areas, including energy, finance, humanitarian, sports exchanges” and others. Yuri Ushakov explained that the parties agreed to supply agricultural products to China and promote energy projects. The Chairman of the People’s Republic of China also confirmed the participation of Chinese athletes in the Future Games in Kazan.

In early January, Vladimir Putin ordered to hold the Russia-China Years of Culture in 2024-2025. As stated in the order, various events should strengthen the countries’ ties in the field of culture.
