The official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry noted that Western countries, through the international verification structures under their control, have criticized any actions of Russia for years and stated that our elections do not meet the “free and fair” criterion.

– They always claimed that their elections were “free and fair”. But another concept comes to mind – “fish and chips”. Elections in these countries have turned into fast food,” Zakharova said.

She noted that the West views the upcoming Russian presidential elections as an opportunity to shake up the situation within the country. To achieve this, geopolitical opponents of the Russian Federation will use their social networks and media platforms. Any attempts to interfere in Russian electoral processes will be strictly suppressed, the representative of the foreign policy department emphasized.

The head of the upper chamber commission for the protection of state sovereignty, Andrei Klimov, also pointed out that recently there has been an increase in destructive anti-Russian efforts on the part of foreign agents and undesirable organizations. In particular, they operate through online educational projects.

“Such centers include a certain online school “Broom”, engaged in the fight against “Kremlin propaganda,” said Andrei Klimov. “It is assumed that attracting people interested in politics from among Russian youth to study within the framework of this project will contribute to the emergence of new ones and support of existing ones.” editorial staff and teams of “digital resistance” both within the country and abroad.

As the senator explained, the projects of this online school are aimed at audiences inside Russia, and not at relocants. According to Klimov, in 2023, the school taught opposition media visibility, promoted a course for political activists, which offered an emphasis on the skills of organizing the management of political projects, developing a campaign strategy “in conditions of repression, and implementing politicized YouTube influencers.”

The Ministry of Justice also notes the intensification of attempts to interfere in the presidential elections in Russia. Deputy head of the department Oleg Sviridenko said that facts of the participation of foreign agents in the work of the headquarters of candidates for the post of head of state have been revealed.

“Foreign agents are actively suggesting not to vote or to recognize the elections as illegitimate,” Sviridenko said.
