xAI has published the source code of its chatbot Grok – Kommersant

Elon Musk’s company xAI, which develops artificial intelligence, unveiled GitHub source code for its Grok language model.
As noted in the company’s announcement, this is its basic version as of October 2013, before the model was trained for any specific purposes. Last November, Grok was integrated into social network X as a chatbot. Access to it was given to holders of a paid subscription.
“There is still work to be done, but this platform is already the most transparent and truth-oriented platform today,” Elon Musk commented on the publication of the code in X.
Mr. Musk decided to publish the Grok source code in mid-March. So the head of X Corp. is trying to encourage other AI model developers to share their own designs. At the beginning of March, Mr. Musk sued on OpenAI, accusing the company of betrayal and “distortion” of the goals and objectives that were set when it was founded in 2015.
Elon Musk was one of the founders of OpenAI. In the company’s founding documents, Mr. Musk noted, it was indicated that OpenAI would keep the source code open and not close access to it for other companies. In 2018, Elon Musk severed ties with OpenAI. In March 2023, OpenAI released the GPT-4 model.
