The International Wushu Tournament, which took place the day before in the Moscow Palace, brought the team of Buryatia 32 medals. Buryat athletes managed to win 15 gold, 8 silver and 9 bronze medals, according to the Ministry of Sports of the Republic.

The results of the past competitions were discussed at a press conference in the Ministry of Sports of Buryatia. Minister of Sports and Youth Policy Ivan Kozyrev stressed that the results of the children of the Ulan-Ude wushu sports school “Golden Dragon” continue to please for a long period of time.

The founder of the Golden Dragon wushu school, Igor Markovets, who is not only a teacher, but also a role model for his students, was presented with a departmental award of the Russian Ministry of Sports – an honorary badge “For Merit in the Development of Physical Culture and Sports.”
