Wrestlers from the Yamal sports school “Victoria” won gold and silver at the Russian Championship, the Department of Physical Education and Sports of the Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug reported on January 21.
“Emin Sefershaev took the championship belt in the 60 kg weight category. Azamat Akhmedov won silver in the 67 kg weight category,” the statement says.
Athletes train at the Purovsky regional sports school “Victoria” under the leadership of Alexey Fomin, Kazbek and Soslan Farniev.
The Russian Championship in sports (Greco-Roman) wrestling was held in Naro-Fominsk from January 17 to 21. 311 athletes from 56 regions of the country took part in it. Seven fighters defended the honor of Yamal.
