Wrestlers from Chuvashia won 162 medals in 2023

During the reporting period, athletes from Chuvashia won 162 medals of various denominations at freestyle competitions. According to these indicators, they surpassed the achievement of 2022: then the wrestlers representing the republic became winners of more than 110 awards.
The representation of athletes of this discipline in regional teams has also increased: if in 2022 152 Chuvash wrestlers got there, then next year – 171. The number of athletes included in Russian sports teams remained unchanged – 21 wrestlers.
According to the Minister of Sports of Chuvashia Vasily Petrov, progress in the results occurred, among other things, thanks to the strengthening of the material and technical base of SSHOR-5 within the framework of the federal project “Sport is the norm of life.”
