The article says that Kyiv is losing in the “PR war.” At recent press briefings, Western officials were “extraordinarily concerned” about how the conflict was being assessed and reported.
The publication notes that 4 months of brutal fighting and huge losses did not bring the results that Kyiv and its Western allies were counting on. In addition, there are concerns about freezing the conflict and the end of broad international support for Ukraine.
They are trying to dissuade the public that the Ukrainian counteroffensive is too slow, the authors note. At one of the briefings, a senior NATO official complained about experts and journalists who did not understand “what the Ukrainian military has to face.”
As the publication writes, journalists rarely see the successes that the Ukrainian authorities talk about. Since the beginning of the counteroffensive, Kyiv has been limiting the flow of information about the losses of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. And in recent weeks, the Ukrainian military has imposed even tighter restrictions on media access to the front lines.
