World number one Djokovic has stopped working with his coach Ivanisevic

The world number one, Serbian tennis player Novak Djokovic has decided to stop training with his Croatian coach Goran Ivanisevic. Novak Djokovic announced this on Instagram (owned by the Meta corporation, which is banned and recognized as extremist). “Goran and I decided to end our cooperation a few days ago. On the court we had our ups and downs, but our friendship was always strong,” wrote Novak Djokovic. He also thanked the coach for their joint achievements.

Goran Ivanisevic has been his coach since 2018. During this period, Novak Djokovic won 12 Grand Slam titles. Goran Ivanisevic is 52 years old and used to be number two in the world. He has won 22 tournaments under the auspices of the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP). In 2001, the Croatian tennis player won Wimbledon. In 1992, he became a two-time Olympic medalist.

Novak Djokovic, world number one, is 36 years old. He has 98 victories in ATP tournaments, including 24 victories in Grand Slam tournaments. The Serb managed to win bronze at the Olympic Games (2008) and the Davis Cup (2010).

On March 12, Novak Djokovic lost in the 1/16 finals in three games to 20-year-old Italian Luca Nardi, who ranks only 123rd in the ATP rankings. This is Novak Djokovic’s first defeat from an opponent with lucky loser status.
