No surprise in the final of the World Championships in Tokyo. Denmark’s Viktor Axelsen, world No. 1, won his second world title in Tokyo on Sunday, after beating Thailand’s Kunlavut Vitidsarn in the final (21-5, 21-16). He had already triumphed in Glasgow in 2017.
The 28-year-old man made short work of his young opponent (21 years old) who was playing his first final in a major Championship, he who is a triple world junior champion. This victory allows him to win a sixth title this season (including the European coronation) after winning the Olympic title last year, already in Tokyo. He truly reigns supreme over the discipline, having lost only one singles match this season.
