Windows 11 may have its own DLSS scaling system – Kommersant

The American corporation Microsoft is developing a new feature called Automatic Super Resolution, which converts video from low resolution to high resolution using artificial intelligence (AI) technologies. Mention of a new feature found in test builds of Windows 11 available to Insider members.

Judging by the description, the tool will be able to use artificial intelligence functions to provide improved detail and smooth gameplay in supported games. Microsoft is likely developing a tool similar to NVIDIA DLSS and AMD FSR, and it may require a specific graphics card or processor to run. The company plans to integrate it directly into Windows 11. Information in the description indicates the development of a function to improve image quality in games and increase frame rates using AI – an analogue of Deep Learning Super Resolution.

Previously Microsoft released update of the Copilot AI assistant: the assistant has learned to explain the meaning of what is written in the Notepad application.

It also became known from media reports that the company may don’t release Windows 12 in 2024.
