WHO chief Ghebreyesus: Gaza has become a death zone
The head of the World Health Organization, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, speaking to reporters in Geneva, spoke about the appalling situation in the Gaza Strip against the backdrop of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict.
According to him, in addition to the death of civilians due to shelling, mortality is rising due to the increase in the level of acute malnutrition (from 1% to more than 15%).
“The Gaza Strip has turned into a death zone. Most of the territory has been destroyed, more than 29 thousand people have died, many more are missing… Many were injured,” Ghebreyesus said.
