Everyone around knows how well they earn in IT. But, as it turns out, not programming alone. It is quite possible to succeed – even without experience – in banking and business intelligence, in medicine, design, construction, engineering.

A special study from a recruiting portal designed to identify the highest paid professions and activities in small towns (with a population of less than 500,000) showed that geophysicists, food safety inspectors and dentists are the most successful in the provinces. These specialists earn 200-250 thousand rubles a month, which is not bad for a metropolis. True, the highest salaries are for people with work experience, for beginners, salaries are much more modest. These professions share the palm with programmers (where would they be without them), who earn about 200 thousand rubles. In demand and well-paid in the outback can be universal cooks, customer service managers, administrators in the construction industry. Here we are talking about a fork of payment of 120-200 thousand rubles a month.

Of course, in big cities or metropolitan areas, the priorities are somewhat different. Although in Moscow there is no way without doctors, cooks or builders. But still at the top of the “monetary pyramid” IT people. The latest market research showed that most of all the employer intends to fork out for such jobs as “technical architects for EDGE” and “DevOps engineers”. Nothing is clear, but the level of payment is immediately from 200 to 400 thousand rubles a month.

– With the first and up to 500 thousand maybe – says programmer Ivan Berezin. – It all depends on the complexity of the task, the timing, the scope of the finished product. Technical architects are IT specialists who prescribe the entire structure of future software from top to bottom. That is, this is a developer who comes up with a concept, structures it, formulates technical tasks for a group of developers, and also works with them. That is, the composer, and the conductor, and the first violin, and even the music is complex, architects are not hired for passing tasks – if by analogy, albeit a distant one. Such specialists on the market are piecemeal: there must be a very voluminous experience, a senior level of programming, and organizational skills as a head of development groups. The team should have its own … DevOps-engineer will be simpler. This is such a software optimizer that makes the work of the product “straighter” and faster, more economical. The area is quite new and there are still few good specialists there.

Again, recent surveys in the field of vacancies revealed that there is a shortage of doctors in the metropolitan area. There is a place even for specialists without experience – for a pediatrician, for example, a dentist or a therapist, or a pathologist. But if they are looking for a doctor after graduation, then the salary is offered 1.5-2 times less. But experienced doctors are ready to pay off 200-250 thousand rubles. Specializations of a psychiatrist, orthopedist, dentist, therapist with knowledge of the ECG technique and other functional studies are in demand.

Special knowledge in vacancies and increasingly narrow requirements, moreover, are increasingly common. Employers, for example, are willing to pay well for a security systems specialist (IT again), but only with knowledge of certain scripts. A sales manager with knowledge of Chinese is offered a salary almost 100 thousand higher compared to an ordinary manager … Also among the vacancies that are paid in the amount of about 150 thousand per month, the profession of design engineer and developer, art director, bank representative, room designer / architect, head of the construction control department, specialist in the beauty industry, trade marketer, etc. Labor market analysts note that Most of the open vacancies with an income level above the average (a sociological survey conducted in 2023 showed that Russians consider an average income of 140 thousand rubles a month for a prosperous life) in Moscow are concentrated in construction and medicine.

– If you try to guess the profession that is in demand, then the landmarks are named correctly, – says Lyubov Konyaeva, a recruiting specialist. – This is about the level of higher education. Because such well-paid positions as a cook, a manager, a real estate sales specialist, a mechanic-fitter, an electrician, etc. – this is most often a specialized secondary education. But experts are in demand. As for only the “tower”, then yes, the trend is this: ever narrower specializations with an increase in the set of competencies. Therefore, I advise you not to try to guess what will be fashionable in a few years, you will not guess. And take as many interdisciplinary subjects and courses as possible, receive certificates, certificates. And to gain experience already from the 2nd year, even at the full-time department. But for the most part, this is what students do. Especially in IT – and there are so many different professions today that each recruitment agency has its own IT department.

Of course, first of all, digital competencies are expected from applicants, more and more areas and professions go online. Data journalist, online psychologist, cyber engineer – these are quite specific vacancies. Analytics is still developing very much – not only financial or applied, there is HR analytics, for example. Such a specialist, in addition to psychology, must be strong in logic and master algebra. Languages ​​other than English are a basic requirement, with Spanish, German, French and increasingly Chinese being popular.
