The function was launched yesterday, December 7, according to press release on the messenger website.
One-time voice messages will be available worldwide in the next few days. Such messages will be marked with a special icon warning that the recording can only be listened to once.
“All private messages on WhatsApp, including voice messages, are end-to-end encrypted by default. The Listen Once feature is another example of how we are improving the confidentiality of communications,” the company added.
In August WhatsApp allowed users can send photos in HD quality. In the beginning of December became knownthat the messenger is testing a new feature that will allow iOS smartphone users to send photos and videos without compression.
