From 2004 to 2006 he was the commander of the Nastoychivy. In 2006–2007 he served at the Leningrad naval base. Since 2007, he commanded a brigade of ships guarding the water area of ​​the Baltic Fleet, and also became the head of the Kronstadt garrison. In December 2010, he took the position of chief of staff – first deputy commander of the Leningrad naval base, and in December 2011 – commander of the Novorossiysk naval base of the Black Sea Fleet.

On February 22, 2014, he received the rank of rear admiral. In July 2016, he became the acting commander of the Caspian Flotilla. On September 20 of the same year he took up this post on a permanent basis. On February 18, 2021, he received the rank of vice admiral, and on May 9 he was appointed deputy commander of the Black Sea Fleet. In October of the same year, he was appointed chief of staff and first deputy commander of the Black Sea Fleet.

It is under sanctions of the European Union, Great Britain, Switzerland, Canada, Japan, Ukraine, New Zealand and Australia.
