Western-made tanks transferred to Kyiv are being destroyed by Russian troops, including due to misuse by the Ukrainian Armed Forces (AFU). This opinion was expressed by reserve colonel Sergei Suvorov, an expert in the field of armored vehicles and a candidate of military sciences, in an interview with TASS.
He noted that in Ukraine, Western tanks suffer due to inept use, for example, use without proper support, lack of reconnaissance before entering minefields and other mistakes. As a result, these tanks become stationary targets that are destroyed by various means such as artillery, aircraft, anti-tank missile systems (ATGM), other tanks, grenade launchers and kamikaze drones.
Suvorov also pointed out that the large mass of Western tanks and the improper use of asphalt shoes on the tracks often lead to them getting stuck in the mud. In this state, they become easy prey for kamikaze drones and other weapons, especially in the absence of dynamic protection.
