The governor of Sevastopol declared January 23 and 24 days off due to water problems
The governor of Sevastopol, Mikhail Razvozhaev, declared January 23 and 24 days off due to heavy precipitation. He reported this in his Telegram-channel.
As it became known, a huge amount of snow fell in the city, but against the backdrop of above-zero temperatures it melted within 24 hours. As a result, there was a sharp influx of dirty water from the mountains into the river. Because of this, the turbidity of the water increased.
“If normally the suspension is 1.5 mg per liter, it has now risen to 58 mg per liter. That is, the water has become almost 60 times dirtier,” Razvozhaev said, adding that in this situation the speed of water treatment deteriorates. That is why water intakes will be stopped and the system will be cleaned.
Razvozhaev emphasized that water supply will be suspended from today until 9:00 tomorrow. The supply will resume only for two hours, and after that it will not be available until 20:00 on January 24. If you supply water periodically, the process may take longer. It is for this reason that the city will declare January 23 and 24 days off.
