Weather in Moscow: Tropical downpour will cover the capital on December 12

Heavy snowfalls, which covered 25-cm snowdrifts in Moscow, will be replaced by a tropical downpour. On December 12, 40-60% of the monthly rainfall may fall in the capital, and in the form of rain. So you can’t do without umbrellas on Monday.

The Balkan cyclone, which brought warming to Moscow, will begin to actively manifest itself already on Monday night.

“In places, ice formations and freezing rains are possible, sleet will turn into rains, and the total amount of precipitation may exceed daily record levels. The air temperature will rise to 0 … + 5 °, which is already 6-7 ° above the norm, ”the Phobos weather center reported.

Meteorologists suggest that on December 12, Moscow will set an absolute daily record of December precipitation in the entire history of meteorological observations.

All week Muscovites should be more careful on the street. On Monday, adverse weather events in the form of rain and black ice will be exacerbated by strong winds that will blow at speeds of up to 17 meters per second.

On Tuesday, December 13, precipitation will become less intense and turn into sleet, the wind will subside a bit. The temperature at night and during the day will be kept at -3…2°, and the speed of the southeast wind will not exceed 10 meters per second.

On Wednesday, December 14, it will get colder to -6…-1°. On Thursday, December 15, it will become completely frosty: at night -11 … -6 °, in the afternoon -9 … -4 °.

And from Friday, December 16, to Sunday, December 18, according to forecasts of meteorologists, at night the temperature is expected to be within -13 … -8, in the daytime -9 … -4 °. At the same time, the sun will peek out from behind the clouds only by Saturday, December 17th.
