“We won the tournament and talked with the Olympic champion” – a Sochi handball coach about winning the Autumn Cup

Team of the Krasnodar region among girls born in 2013/14 won Autumn Cup of the Russian Handball Federation, which took place in the Nizhny Novgorod region. The team consisted of players from sports school No. 18 of the Central district and sports school No. 6 of the Lazarevsky district.
Kubanochki won all 7 matches of the tournament, and in the final they defeated the Leningrad Region 23:3.
The Krasnodar Territory team received 4 individual awards. The best point guard and scorer was Sarima Matlaeva, the most valuable player of the competition was Zalina Kobzh. Team Mentor Ruslan Nibo was recognized as the best coach.
The Sochi specialist spoke in more detail about the competition.
– You know, we got to the tournament, one might say, thanks to a happy accident. There was a vacancy because one of the teams could not come. And we were offered to take their place. It was fortunate that shortly before the tournament we held a 10-day training camp, so we went there prepared. I was a coach with my father Kandaur Batyrbievich. At games we divided responsibilities. He set up the defense system, and I was more responsible for the attack. We did it successfully. Largely thanks to tactics, I think we won.
Ruslan Nibo also highly appreciated the organization of the tournament and spoke about the team’s meeting with Sydney Olympic champion Lev Voronin.
– Thanks to the Russian Handball Federation for holding a sporting event for children of such a high level. Separately, I would like to express my gratitude to the General Director of the FGR, Lev Gennadievich Voronin, for his attention to children’s handball. His arrival and many hours of communication with children is direct proof of this… It is worth a lot when children can easily communicate with the Olympic champion and be charged with positive emotions. I would also like to say thank you to the federation staff Anastasia Slashchuk and Alina Knyazeva, who throughout the days at the tournament venue created the comfort of this event and promptly responded to any requests from the teams.
