Nikas Safronov and Sophia Loren met in 1988. The artist was working in Milan at that time, restoring paintings by a local collector. It was he who invited Nikas to one of the parties, where he introduced him to Sophia Loren. Since then they became friends. The actress repeatedly visited Safronov, flew to him for birthdays and the opening of exhibitions. The artist also visited her house in Switzerland.

“Sophie, despite her advanced age, is very strong in spirit,” Nikas continues. “Now the doctors recommend rest for her. Rehabilitation will be long: such injuries do not go away quickly. But I am sure that she will cope with all the difficulties.

Lauren is under the supervision of the best doctors and follows all recommendations. She is in a fighting mood, despite the operation..

“Recently, Sophia Loren has been living the way she wants,” says the painter. “She enjoys every day she lives.” He can afford it. We saw her at the end of summer. I flew specifically to see her for a few days. She was very happy about our meeting and the gifts that I brought her. I am sure that Sophie is not lying when she says that “she is better,” I hope she gets better very soon. And we, all Lauren’s fans, need to pray for her. Then her recovery will be much faster.
