The tenth loss in the losing streak of HC Sochi came in the last match before a short break in the KHL series. Leopards lost to Vityaz near Moscow with a score of 6:2. The first of the six scheduled meetings of the teams in the season took place on December 8 at the Balashikha Arena Ice Palace.
The pucks flew into the gates of Sochi residents throughout the game: the opponent scored one goal in the first period, three in the second and two more in the third. The Leopards were able to earn a point each at the beginning of the match and at the very end. However, the goals scored by Kirill Petkov and Dmitry Zavgorodny did not outweigh the opponent’s power – the hockey players went on a week-long break with another loss.
“We need this pause – someone will be treated, there will be normal sports competition in the team,” said the Leopards head coach Sergei Svetlov.
The next game of HC Sochi will take place only on December 19 in Yaroslavl. The Leopards will face Lokomotiv at the opponent’s home arena.
Recall that the 2022/2023 season has not yet become the most successful for Sochi residents. The last of several protracted losing streaks began with meetings between Leopards and Avangard in mid-November.
