“We have the brightest prospects” – Kommersant FM

The Russian State Social University (RGSU) confirmed the development of a digital platform called “We”, which forms a social rating. The project, in particular, provides for the possibility of assessing the future prospects and usefulness of a person based on an analysis of his behavior and personal qualities. According to the developers, the system will be able to be used by authorities at all levels, as well as public organizations. Kommersant FM political commentator Dmitry Drize believes that technological progress is not always good.

The Russian State Social University (RGSU) has confirmed that it is developing an experimental platform under the life-affirming name “We”. The official wording is as follows: “As part of the project, our scientists set the task of developing a modern social scoring system on a specially created qualimetric platform using probabilistic and statistical assessment models.”

In fact, everything is very simple: all the information about you is collected in a database, and then you, dear comrade, are assigned a social rating or, scientifically speaking, a scoring. And this way it will be easier for the state to understand what you, dear Russian, are like.

For example, will the country be able to count on you in difficult times, will you give it all your strength and resources if necessary, or are you, so to speak, rotten, irresponsible.

So what then, you ask. Nothing yet – the system is just being developed. And the state has absolutely nothing to do with it. But the prospects for this very “We” are the most rosy, that is, theoretically it is like an identity card: no “We” – no nothing, no government or other services. The same as a person without a passport.

Numerous media and other sources, without saying a word, immediately took and recalled Yevgeny Zamyatin’s dystopian novel of the same name. And another completely negative character will say so directly: a digital concentration camp. Chinese comrades, by the way, are also actively working on this.

What about personal data that cannot be used without my personal civil consent? However, enough of the exaggeration. Firstly, the system is not working yet. Secondly, this is not a government initiative, but a product of scientific research. Thirdly, do you think that nothing is known about you? On the plane he was rowdy – he was blacklisted, he got drunk and shouted obscene things – he went there to the wrong rally – then you understand.

Or what is a credit history bureau if not a rating? Yes, just look at some – everything will be clear right away without any rating. It’s all written on the face.

And finally, technically it’s not so easy to implement all this, especially since we have a shortage of IT specialists. This is not today. Although yes, of course, it is unpleasant when a category is assigned to a living person. He is a living being – not a robot after all. On the other hand, the 21st century is just around the corner. Previously, we somehow lived peacefully without all this technology and didn’t bother. We went to visit each other. Okay. But you don’t appreciate technical progress. However, this, as they say, is a separate issue. Discussion.
