Alexander Ovechkin commented on the defeat of his team, the Washington Capitals, by the Edmonton Oilers with a score of 0:5 in the NHL regular season match. According to Ovechkin, his team did not play at all.
“I think we didn’t play at all. Obviously we gave them a lot of space. When their leading players control the puck, it’s dangerous,” said the Russian, who is captain of the Washington Capitals (quoted by website NHL).

According to the NHL press service, the capital team conceded three goals in one period for the first time in five years. Leon Draisaitl scored two goals in the match, Evander Kane, Ryan Nugent-Hopkins and Evan Bouchard scored one each.
