The same decree enshrines the “aspiration” for zero road deaths by 2030. This topic, speaking last week within the framework of the government hour in the Federation Council, was touched upon by the head of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs, Vladimir Kolokoltsev.

“The main direction of reducing accidents is the desire for zero deaths on the roads,” the minister said (quoted from TASS).- Someday, of course, it will be, but in order to reach zero mortality in general, all traffic must be completely stopped. That would be zero.”

The Minister recalled that in five years the number of deaths on the roads has decreased by more than 20%. According to him, this indicator is influenced by two factors: driving into the oncoming lane and driving while intoxicated.

The police department reported that in ten months the number of “drunk” accidents and 23.5% – the number of deaths in them.
