“We are building a team and a team for more than one year”: Roman Sharonov analyzed the draw between SKA-Khabarovsk and Akron and summed up the results of the first part of the championship

If in a nutshell – “Akron”, which is now at the bottom of the First League table and wanted to score points from the nose – he pressed. SKA-Khabarovsk, which would not have been hindered by glasses, tried to press high, but at first could not keep the hosts from the most dangerous attacks. Closer to the end of the match, the Khabarovsk players began to improve their game. They are scored a goal and even created some truly dangerous chances at the opponent’s goal. Already in extra time there was a moment, having completed which, SKA would have taken home three points instead of one. But it didn’t work out.

However, the game was interesting, and a draw does not interrupt the now six-match unbeaten run of the Khabarovsk team, which, by the way, after the twentieth round, rose to the fifth line of the First League championship, one point ahead of Arsenal, which lost to Baltika, and one point short, to Yenisei, which fell due to the loss to Veles, which is now fourth. The team is now leaving for the winter holidays and is starting to work on the point strengthening of some positions. Will it work – we’ll see in the spring.

– It’s a pity that we couldn’t bring the match to victory, I think we had a huge advantage in the lion’s share of the match, and then, when we unclenched our vise, the opponent scored and bounced back. Well, we are satisfied with the quality of the game. I think that in the winter break we can still work and strengthen our football. As for the results of twenty rounds, we did not achieve the result we expected. This is connected with the change of coach, coaching staff. Because when the third coaching staff during the year – it never adds stability to the team and can not lead to anything good. Therefore, maybe the team talked like that at the start of the championship. But we must continue to work, we must try to move in the right direction and take the right steps to correct the situation in the final stretch in the spring. The whole team will be tuned in to this. In general, Roman Sharonov was satisfied with the results that his team has recently begun to show. As much as a coach trying to achieve the ideal can be satisfied. Something is successful, something is not, but in general, progress is visible to the naked eye, and this cannot but rejoice.

– If we take the first half, then we had a successful game in general, and this applies to high pressure and play in the attack, that is, at the bottom we more or less defended. In the second half, with the exception of the beginning, the quality of the game probably got better – and the pressure worked out somewhere, and there were more attacks, we were more with the ball. Why didn’t it work? We changed formations incorrectly, applied pressure incorrectly, and Akron went out quite easily in the high block. Results of the summer-autumn part? Basis – we build a team and a team for more than one year. If we analyze this, then we have taken a step forward. I mean that each of the players has progressed. Some more, some less, but they have progressed. One of the tasks in the context of a team game is for the players to progress, and due to this, if we take the result, our results have grown. But this does not mean that this process is over. We will continue to work. As for plans for the off-season, of course, we have them. We have prepared, we will work at the training camp, we have a plan and we will implement it, but how much the team will change, I can’t say for sure right now, but, of course, we are looking for players for certain positions in order to strengthen ourselves more precisely. This is a natural process. As for the expectations from my first season in the First League – I did not expect anything, I was focused on the work that is. I have seen a number of interesting teams that are progressing in terms of the level of play. I won’t name them, but there are teams with their own style. Speaking in general, the level of Russian football is falling, this does not apply to the First League, this is in general. I hope that in the future there will be those conditions that will help Russian football to progress, – stressed Roman Sharonov, head coach of FC SKA-Khabarovsk.

The next match SKA-Khabarovsk will play only on Sunday, March 5, in Kaliningrad with the situational leader of the championship – Baltika, who scored 41 points in twenty rounds.
