Russia entered the top 10 leading countries in the field of digital transformation of the government and digitalization of the public service sector, reported Ministry of Economic Development with reference to the results of the international rating GovTech Maturity Index (GTMI) of the World Bank.

This ranking, covering 198 countries, based on indicators reflecting the degree of digitalization in the field of public services, tax and budgetary areas, measures key aspects in the areas of “Essential public systems”, “Public service delivery”, “Public engagement” and “Institutional provision” , noted in the department.

“A high position in the GTMI rating expands opportunities for promoting domestic digital products and solutions to countries and regions with less developed technologies,” said Vladimir Ilyichev, Deputy Minister of Economics.

It is noted that experts from the Ministry of Economics and the Ministry of Digital Development conducted a large-scale analysis of the digital transformation of the Russian public sector, analyzing the work of such digital products as the system of public services, interdepartmental electronic interaction, electronic document management, the Unified Medical Information and Analytical System (EMIAS), etc. The results of the work were sent to the WB followed by a series of meetings and consultations with employees and management of the bank. Russia ended up on the shortlist of countries with the highest A-rating, which also included South Korea, Brazil, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Estonia, France, India, Lithuania and Mongolia.
