In the coming days, incidents with ships due to stormy weather are possible in the waters of the Okhotsk and Bering Seas. Waves up to 8.5 m high are expected, RIA Novosti reports with reference to the All-Russian Research Institute for Civil Defense and Emergencies (VNII GOChS).
According to him, stormy weather with a wave height of up to 6 m is predicted from August 30 to September 3 in the Sea of Okhotsk and the Tatar Strait. In the period from September 2 to 4, waves up to 8.5 m high are possible in the Bering Sea. VNII GOChS clarified that these weather conditions increase the risk of incidents with ships of all types.
