The US State Department stated that sanctions will be imposed against individuals who support elections in new regions of the Russian Federation, as well as in Crimea.
As the American Foreign Ministry clarified, this also applies to those who will act as international observers.
Let us remind you that September 10 in Russia is the Unified Voting Day. Elections of senior officials are planned in 21 regions of the country. In some regions, elections will begin on September 8 and will last three days. Thus, polling stations have already opened for the election of governor of the Chukotka Autonomous Okrug.
