Washington state court did not exclude Trump from primaries

A Washington state court rejected a request to exclude former US President Donald Trump from participation in the procedure for determining the Republican candidate in the upcoming elections. Trump campaign spokesman Stephen Chung said this.

Chung noted that Washington’s decision is consistent with similar decisions in more than a dozen federal courts, as well as state courts in Michigan, Minnesota and Oregon. In his statement, he emphasized that despite such decisions, there were exceptions.

For example, the Colorado Supreme Court previously decided to disqualify Trump from participating in the primary election procedure based on his alleged involvement in the “insurrection” – the events of the storming of the Capitol on January 6, 2021. The judge found that Trump’s involvement in these events poses a threat to the election process. Lawsuits seeking Trump’s exclusion from the election under the 14th Amendment have been filed in a dozen other states.
