The World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) continues to insist that Russian figure skater Kamila Valieva be disqualified for four years. This was stated in the press service of the organization.
CAS previously announced on the postponement of hearings on Valieva’s doping case.
The WADA press service confirmed that the agency will insist on a speedy resolution of this dispute. They emphasize that WADA’s position remains unchanged and the agency is committed to fairness for athletes and clean sport.
“We assert that the RUSADA Disciplinary Committee’s conclusion that the athlete had ‘no fault or negligence’ was incorrect under the provisions of the World Anti-Doping Code,” the agency said.
It is also noted that WADA intends to seek cancellation of the figure skater’s results from the date when the doping test was taken (December 2021), and including her performances at the 2022 Olympic Games.
