President of the Russian Ski Racing Federation Elena Vyalbe said that Alexander Bolshunov was found guilty of a conflict with Sergei Ustyugov at the Russian Cup stage in Krasnogorsk.
“This is not a decision of the federation, but of the jury, which deliberated for a long time yesterday. Today Sasha was summoned, yes, he received a verbal warning, video footage was shown, he agreed with the decision,” RIA Novosti quotes Vyalbe.
On Sunday, after the classical sprint at the fifth stage of the Russian Cup, Ustyugov did not shake hands with Bolshunov and said that he had acted “not humanly” by stepping on his skis.
In the final race, Bolshunov took second place, while Ustyugov finished third.
Sergei Ustyugov subsequently did not go to the awards ceremony for the winners of the stage.
