The head of the administration of the city of Kirov told his subscribers in Telegram about his participation in the “Ski Track of Russia”, which took place in the city on February 11.
Vyacheslav Simakov said that they came to the start from “small to large”. People gathered not only to show their sports capabilities, but also just to talk and recharge with vivacity and good emotions.
Vcheslav Nikolaevich recalled one of his previous participations in the same event, which took place several years ago in Novovyatsk. He took with him old skis, which included poles with plastic rings.
They gave a start, Vyacheslav Simakov plunged sticks into the snow, and they went half a meter down into the snow cover and broke. I had to run without cane support.
These competitions also turned out to be interesting. The head of the city hall rented excellent skis from friends for lack of his own. He put them on and realized that no one had prepared the sports equipment for the competition: his legs parted in different directions. From this, Vyacheslav Nikolaevich felt like a “cow on ice” literally.
But he did not retreat, he decided to run a distance of 1 kilometer and passed it completely, “clenching his will into a fist”, as he later wrote about it.
