At the government’s operational meeting on October 22, Vyacheslav Gladkov noted that rumors about the closure of the Belgorod youth hockey team arose due to the fact that the information was submitted incorrectly. Judging by the words of the governor, nothing threatens the club.
The head of the region instructed his deputies to explain the position of the regional authorities to the team and the public, informs BelPress. Gladkov noted that the actions of the mayor’s office to remove the MHC Belgorod from the children’s and youth sports school are understandable – the club has adult players, so the administration, by law, cannot leave the team at the sports school. However, the club is not in danger. The head of the region stressed that the information was submitted incorrectly, which gave the impression that the Belgorod MHC could be closed.
“In relation to the hockey team, there was an incorrect communication of information to both hockey fans and team members. This raises questions. There is no big problem there,” Gladkov said.
What exactly awaits MHK “Belgorod” in the future at the operational meeting was not specified.
Recall that earlier in social networks appeared information that the youth hockey team is allegedly closed due to the termination of funding from the city budget. The mayor’s office confirmed that they want to redistribute the money that was previously allocated to the club for the development of mass hockey in Belgorod, and the team was offered to look for an investor. The club will also be provided with a free training base.
