Vučić announces talks between Serbia and Kosovo on November 21

Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic announced negotiations with the leadership of partially recognized Kosovo on November 21. According to Vucic, the meeting will be held in Brussels.
The Serbian President specified that the talks should start in Brussels at 8:00. “There is no doubt that the situation is the most difficult in the last 10 years. We reached important agreements on identity cards, and it seemed that this would be an impetus to move our negotiations forward, ”said Vučić (quoted by the Serbian edition news).
Former French President Emmanuel Macron and German Chancellor Olaf Scholz sent letter to the President of Serbia. The leaders of the two countries called on Belgrade to make “difficult decisions” on the issue of Kosovo and Metohija. Serbian Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic informed rejection of the proposed plan.
On November 5, the leader of the Serbs from Kosovo and Metohija, the head of the Serbian List party, Goran Rakic, said that the Serbs had withdrawn from all institutions of power in Kosovo. The politician himself resigned from the post of government minister. After Rakic’s statement, Serbian deputies announced their withdrawal from parliament, then judges and members of municipalities announced their resignation. Then, right during the meeting, the Serbian police leaders took off their uniforms and epaulettes of the unrecognized Kosovo.
On November 1, Vučić ordered the country’s army to be put on alert as Kosovo’s ban on Serbian license plates came into effect. As noted by TASS, the amount of the fine will be 150 euros, and citizens will be given instructions on how to replace Serbian numbers. The transitional period will last until April 21, 2023, after which the Kosovo police will begin to confiscate vehicles with Serbian numbers.
