Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic named the number of citizens of Russia and Ukraine who have recently arrived in the country, according to him, there are about 17.6 thousand of them.

Vučić is attending the Budapest summit on Monday along with Hungarian and Austrian leaders Viktor Orbán and Karl Nehammer. Vučić noted that there is an increase in the number of refugees from Syria, Afghanistan and Pakistan in Serbia.

“On the other hand, there is an influx of people from Russia in increasing numbers. To date, we have registered only those who have a temporary registration for a year, about 17.6 thousand from the Russian Federation and Ukraine together,” he said.

Vučić stressed that this is a big burden for such a small country like Serbia.
