The threat of an attack on Russia is considered real by 41% of citizens. This is evidenced by the results of a survey by the All-Russian Public Opinion Research Center (VTsIOM), published on Wednesday, September 21. At the same time, half of the study participants (50%) are sure that there is no threat of attack on our country. Another 9% of citizens found it difficult to answer this question.

The telephone survey was conducted by VTsIOM-Sputnik in August among 1,600 Russians over 18 years old.

Of those who consider Russia a real threat, almost two-thirds of citizens (62%) believe that it comes from the United States. 31% of Russians are sure that Ukraine should be feared. Slightly more than a quarter of citizens (26%) see a threat in Poland. 18% of Russians believe that the danger comes from the UK, 8% from the NATO bloc, and the same number from Germany. The Baltic countries fell under suspicion least of all. Only 4% of respondents saw a threat on their part.

Earlier, MK wrote about a poll by VTsIOM, according to which over two-thirds (70%) of Russians “rather support” the conduct of a special military operation (SVO) in Ukraine. Those who are negative are much less. The publication notes that 18% of respondents “rather do not support” CBO. Another 12% of respondents found it difficult to answer this question.
