The third and final day of voting in the elections for the mayor of Moscow and municipal deputies of 13 formations of the TiNAO has ended. Polling stations were also closed in the central regions of Russia – Ivanovo, Voronezh, Pskov, Oryol and Smolensk regions. The turnout in the elections for the mayor of the capital by 18:00 was 41.4%, in the municipal elections – 45.6%. The turnout in the elections in the Moscow region was 54.7%.
Almost 2.2 thousand polling stations operated in the capital from September 8 to 10. Muscovites had the opportunity to vote in person or online using Remote Electronic Voting (DEV). According to the Moscow Election Commission, 3,284,078 people out of 7.6 million voters voted in the elections in the capital.
Candidates for the post of Mayor of Moscow were registered:
- Dmitry Gusev (“Fair Russia”),
- Vladislav Davankov (“New People”),
- Leonid Zyuganov (Communist Party of the Russian Federation),
- Sergei Sobyanin (United Russia),
- Boris Chernyshov (LDPR).
About 630 candidates were registered for the elections of municipal deputies in New Moscow.
Elections in the Moscow region included 12 election campaigns, including elections for the governor of the Moscow region, as well as deputy elections to local government bodies of urban districts.
Candidates for the post of governor of the Moscow region were Andrei Vorobyov (United Russia), Kirill Zhigarev (LDPR), Alexander Naumov (Communist Party of the Russian Federation), Anatoly Nikitin (A Just Russia). According to the election commission, about 6 million people voted in the Moscow region. As of 18:00, turnout in the region was 54.7%.
