Voter turnout in the Russian presidential elections exceeded 30% – Kommersant

By 20:40 Moscow time on the first day of voting in the Russian presidential elections, voter turnout was 34.60%, as follows from datapresented in the information center of the Central Election Commission (CEC). In remote electronic voting (DEG) 69% of registered users on the platform took part.

According to the map presented by the Central Election Commission, at the moment the highest turnout is recorded among residents of Chukotka, the Jewish Autonomous Region, Tyva, the Kemerovo and Belgorod regions, the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug, Chechnya and Kabardino-Balkaria, as well as the Donetsk People’s Republic, Zaporozhye and Kherson regions. Voting started early in the regions that became part of the Russian Federation.

In 2024, Russian presidential elections will be held within three days for the first time in the country’s history. Voters will be able to cast their ballots from March 15 to 17. Preliminary voting results for the Central Election Commission elections plans to present in the morning of March 18. Four candidates are participating in the elections: Nikolai Kharitonov (Communist Party of the Russian Federation), Leonid Slutsky (LDPR), Vladislav Davankov (New People) and Vladimir Putin (self-nominated).
