Voronezh handball players topped the national championship standings thanks to recent victories

On Saturday, February 4, the Voronezh sports center “Grand Prix” hosted another match of the Higher League championship in handball among men’s teams, in which the local club of the same name hosted the Belgorod Tekhnolog-Spartak.
After a confident victory the day before with an advantage of six goals (35 to 29), the hosts also actively started Saturday’s match. According to the results of the first half of the meeting, the advantage of the Voronezh team was five goals (21:16).
In the second half, the Belgorod team stepped up and began to close the gap. Five minutes before the final siren, the gap was only two goals. The nervous ending remained with the Voronezh team, who were able to keep the winning score by winning with a minimal difference (35:34).
Thanks to these victories, handball players from the capital of the Chernozem region topped the standings of the national championship.
