Vologda athletes brought medals from the All-Russian taekwondo competitions

Vologda residents took part in the Championship and Championship of Russia in the martial art of taekwondo. The competitions were held in Sochi from 15 to 21 November. More than 2.1 thousand athletes came there to win medals. Participants represented 53 subjects of the country.
The Vologda region team consisted of taekwondo fighters of different ages. And the smallest athletes became the first winners of the awards: Lev Grimov brought the Vologda team a silver medal, and Ruslan Princes a bronze medal.
After that, meetings of athletes of older age groups began. Here, the Vologda residents have also risen to the podium more than once.
So, Sergey Kirbitov became the best two times – he won fights in two different disciplines. His compatriot Nikolai Velsky decided to keep up and also win two awards – silver and bronze. Another winner of the competition was Artem Makarov, who closed the top three in his group.
In addition, one of the Vologda athletes was invited to the Russian team.
