Speaker of the State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin, speaking at the plenary session, proposed to discuss the issue of participation in the special operation in Ukraine of those deputies and employees of the apparatus of the State Duma who could be in demand during partial mobilization in Russia.

“Let us, for our part, also quickly study this issue. The one who can be demanded – it is necessary to make a decision. We have assistants, we have a large apparatus. Yes, these are civil servants, but also let’s gather those who have experience, who work with us and would like to take part, maybe volunteer,” he said.

According to the current legislationState Duma deputies and members of the Federation Council have a deferment from conscription for military service for mobilization.

September 21 Russian President Vladimir Putin announced conducting partial mobilization in the country. Only citizens who are currently in the reserve, and above all those who served in the Armed Forces, have certain military specialties and relevant experience, will be subject to conscription for military service. Later, Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu stressed that the mobilization would not affect students and conscripts.

Putin’s decree has already been signed and published. According to the document, mobilization begins on September 21. Employees of military-industrial enterprises will be able to get a deferment. Contracts signed with military personnel will be valid until the end of the partial mobilization period. The only exceptions are cases of dismissal due to age, state of health and in connection with deprivation of liberty by a court verdict.
