Volodin threatened the relocants with an article about treason and a convoy to “where there is no summer”

State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin said that relocants who financed the Armed Forces of Ukraine or criticized Russia may be charged with treason upon returning to their homeland. Mr. Volodin proposed placing relocants not in Magadan, as he proposed to do earlier, but in places “where there is no summer.”
“Such actions are related to Art. 275 of the Criminal Code ”Treason”. Therefore, that’s right, we need to check with you, if now they are starting to come back, but at the same time they made statements against the country and also financed the armed forces of Ukraine, of course, we must take you and choose the place where it is better to send them immediately,”— said Mr. Volodin at the closed part of the State Duma meeting (quote from Prime).
In addition, Vyacheslav Volodin adjusted his yesterday assumption. The day before, on October 10, he said that Magadan was “secured” for the relocants “rejoicing at the shots fired at Russia.” After this, Governor of the Magadan Region Sergei Nosov saidthat Kolyma “will not accept traitors and relocants” and that the region needs “hardworking and talented people.”
“But this is not Magadan. Magadan is a development area. Most likely, as Nikolai Kharitonov (State Duma deputy) suggested, there should be mines, and the territory should be looked at where our weather is more constant, so that there is no summer there,” said Vyacheslav Volodin.
