Volodin proposed to confiscate the property of the “left scoundrels”

State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin believes that the existing measures in modern legislation to respond to insults to Russia “its inhabitants, soldiers and officers” are not enough. According to him, cases have recently become more frequent when citizens who have left, in order to “curry favor and maintain their well-being abroad”, openly support “villains, Nazis and murderers.”

The politician recalled that such statements can be regarded as calls for extremism, the rehabilitation of Nazism or discrediting the Armed Forces.

However, people who left the country do not fear criminal prosecution. “The scoundrels who have left live comfortably thanks to our country. While abroad, they rent out real estate, continue to receive royalties at the expense of Russian citizens. At the same time, they allow themselves to publicly pour dirt on Russia. They feel their impunity, believing that justice cannot reach them,” Mr. Volodin wrote in his blog. Telegram channel.

In this regard, he proposes to supplement the above articles of the Criminal Code with a clause on confiscation of property. The speaker of the State Duma believes that these funds will make it possible to compensate for the damage caused by them.

In early January, a member of the State Duma Committee on Security and Anti-Corruption Sultan Khamzaev addressed to the Investigative Committee of Russia with a request to prosecute theater and film actor Artur Smolyaninov. The reason was the statement of the artist in an interview about his readiness to fight on the side of Ukraine. At the same time, Mr. Smolyaninov said that he “does not care about the fate of Russia.” Sultan Khamzaev was supported by a number of his colleagues, after which the chairman of the ICR, Alexander Bastrykin, instructed to initiate a criminal case against the actor. In the same interview, Boris Grebenshchikov criticized the conduct of the special operation and called Russia fascist. Sultan Khamzaev believes that the artist’s statements contain the fact of promoting terrorism and discrediting the Russian military.
